Open Board Positions for 2018-2019

Dues for all board positions is $500

TREASURER 

  • Maintain financial accounts and records of PHA
  • Report, on a monthly basis, account balances, revenues and expenditures
  • File Annual statements in lieu of 990s or file 990s
  • Manage the board’s review of and action related to the board’s financial responsibilities
  • Present annual budget to board for approval
  • Work with Grants Chairs to support funding plan for PHA
  • Solicit individual donations on behalf of PHA Board
  • Personally send individual donor acknowledgements
  • Actively participate in annual giving campaign
  • Attend monthly board meeting on Wednesdays from 8am – 9:30
  • Attend annual October Fiesta event

MARKETING CHAIR / SOCIAL MEDIA CHAIR: 

  • Works weekly to promote awareness and education items via social media, newsletter and special invitations to our members/email list
  • Works as-needed to promote events via social media, newsletter and special invitations to our members/email list – connect with other board members for their needs.
  • Prepares and sends monthly newsletter (solicits content from Board members and volunteers) (
  • Post 3 to 4 posts a week on various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn. PHA Listserv) and link content from newsletter to website.
  • Actively participate in annual giving campaign
  • Attend monthly board meeting on Wednesdays from 8am – 9:30
  • Attend annual October Fiesta event

PRESIDENT ELECT: 

  • Shadows President during board meetings, other President duties and other meetings to observe and learn about role and tasks
  • Work with President on goals for the immediate short term and the upcoming year
  • Receive copies and forwards of all president –related emails and communication to learn about communication processes.
  • Actively participate in annual giving campaign
  • Plan to take over the President position in 2019
  • Attend monthly board meeting on Wednesdays from 8am – 9:30
  • Attend annual October Fiesta event

EDUCATION CHAIR:

  • Provide leadership and coordination for PHA Membership focused education opportunities
  • Identify location and hold at least four educational opportunities for members in addition to Training Chairs duties
  • Seek out topics and unique individuals who can provide added value to PHA Members
  • Work with Membership and Training Chairs to build on Member driven interests and activities
  • Actively participate in annual giving campaign
  • Attend monthly board meeting on Wednesdays from 8am – 9:30
  • Attend annual October Fiesta event

SPECIAL PROJECTS CHAIR:

  • 2018 Goal: Create and implement plan to re-design print materials/PHA logo
  • Work with PHA Staff to identify vendor(s) for red-design of materials/logo
  • Work with Treasurer to develop a budget for brochure re-design
  • Work closely with PHA Staff on vendor communication
  • Work to secure appropriate vendors for printing of brochures
  • Actively participate in annual giving campaign
  • Attend monthly board meeting on Wednesdays from 8am – 9:30
  • Attend annual October Fiesta event

MATERIALS CHAIR:

  • Oversee ongoing distribution of print material and other informational materials, recruit volunteers/Members to assist with distribution or perform distribution when necessary
  • Document all print material distribution contacts and provide to Training and Membership Chairs
  • Track and determine appropriate venues for PHA to set up booths
  • Help to build relationships with groups and individuals who use brochures, and secure opportunities for trainings and further support
  • Attend monthly board meeting on Wednesdays from 8am – 9:30
  • Attend annual October Fiesta event
