Cristina Bernardo

Cristina Bernardo is Co-Founder of Avocado Health, a 24/7 Parent Coach in Your Pocket. A Cuban American mother, certified executive coach, and social entrepreneur, Cristina is a graduate of the London School of Economics and previously served as a political appointee working on Rural Economic Development initiatives at the federal level. Prior to Avocado Health, Cristina led an award-winning, mission-driven startup and B Corp, and has coached more than 300 women leaders across sectors, supporting them through periods of growth, transition, and crisis. Avocado Health’s mission is deeply informed by Cristina's own personal journey. Cristina's daughter, Aviva, was born full-term and healthy in January 2020, then experienced multiple unexplained hospitalizations during her first ten months of life. Outside of her 6 hospitalizations, she was happy, energetic and full of laughs and giggles. Despite extensive testing and care seeing over 30 physicians, no diagnosis was ever identified. She passed away in November 2020 in the hospital, and the cause remains unknown. In her honor, Cristina and her partner and husband Hans, have committed to building a company that would ensure parents never have to navigate uncertainty alone. Together, they lead Avocado Health with a shared belief that parent support and confidence is foundational to better decisions, healthier families, and stronger outcomes for children and parents alike, and that support should be available in the moments it matters most. They partner with nonprofits, pediatric clinics, maternal health providers, and pediatric influencers to bring 24/7 support to the families they support. In partnership with Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies of Hawaii, and the DOH, they launched the Parent Line in Hawai'i, to provide around the clock support to all Hawaiian families.
