Ana Sofia Arevalo

SDSU Public Health Intern

Ana is an Emergency Manager at UC San Diego Health and a Perinatal Mental Health Public Health Intern with the Postpartum Health Alliance, where she is focused on learning from and supporting the community through Warmline operations, outreach, and program evaluation.

During her undergraduate Public Health Honors Practicum at University of California, SanDiego, Ana conducted formal program evaluations of community-based health initiatives, including evaluating Scripps’ Standing Strong Fall Prevention Workshop through pre-, post-, and follow-up survey analysis. She also designed and analyzed a COVID-19 perceptions and behaviors survey among adults aged 65+, developing evidence-based recommendations that were presented to program leadership. This work strengthened her skills in data analysis, needs

assessment, and translating findings into actionable, community-informed improvements.

She is currently pursuing her MPH in Health Management & Policy at San Diego State University, with a focus on applying data-driven and community-centered approaches to improve health systems and better serve diverse populations.
