Dr. Arteaga-Biggs is a bilingual, licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in Bankers Hill (San Diego, CA) and is credentialed as a National Register Health Service Psychologist (#55811). Dr. Arteaga-Biggs completed her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium. She completed an APA-accredited Predoctoral Internship at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, where she continued to gain expertise treating monolingual, undocumented Spanish-speaking individuals. Dr. Arteaga-Biggs completed her APA-Accredited Postdoctoral Psychology Fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Behavioral Medicine/ Women’s Health where she provided bilingual consultation services to a variety of medical clinics, transplant evaluations, and brief and long-term evidence-based individual and couples psychotherapy. Additionally, she supervised advanced practicum doctoral students. Dr. Arteaga-Biggs also obtained an M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Throughout all her graduate studies, she received extensive training in the use of evidence-based treatments for a multitude of complex clinical presentations and developed expertise in treating underserved populations and disenfranchised individuals. Dr. Arteaga-Biggs' research, clinical interests, and areas of expertise include race-based trauma, behavioral medicine, chronic medical conditions (endometriosis, pelvic pain, vulvodynia, infertility), women's health, trauma and posttraumatic growth, grief/ loss, destructive mind control, couples/marital functioning, IVF support, and perinatal mood disorders. I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice with expertise in treating a broad range of emotional and behavioral problems via individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy. My treatment approach is integrative, most heavily influenced by evidence-based, person-centered, cognitive behavioral and humanistic-existential theories. I address unique cultural experiences and various psychological systems that may be contributing to your presenting concerns through an intersectional lens. My style is empathic and non-judgmental and I tailor treatment to meet each individual's unique needs. Most importantly, I am passionate about working collaboratively with patients, to help you optimize your emotional, mental, and physical health.
