I have a certificate in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) to treat people who get anxiety, depression, or bipolar episodes during or after being pregnant. I also have a long history of treating addictive disorders including substance use disorders.Bio:
I am a clinical psychologist and worked 6 years in a primary care setting that treated a variety of patients, including those with postpartum (or peripartum) depression and/or anxiety. I believe that we all go through difficult times and sometimes we benefit from having an outside perspective and support. As a mother of three children myself (including one who is neurodivergent/high needs), I understand that there is huge emotional labor that parents often experience and may need support to navigate. I enjoy working with pregnant and postpartum parents and providing support, something that they people often don't have enough of. I obtained my certificate in treating Perinatal Mental Health to further help me to be of service to parents. My treatment style can best be described as eclectic, meaning that I draw from a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) with my overarching goal being to help people achieve the goals they want to in life. I am seeing clients virtually and I only accept cash pay through my private practice, but do offer a sliding scale. I can also offer monthly superbills if I am out of network (which most insurance companies offer) so that you could get reimbursed partially through your insurance benefits.
