Contact Person:
Teresa Sieto, M.S., LMFT 619-880-7013
Methods of Payment Accepted:
Out of pocket, cash-fee basis debit/credit card: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover etc.
Insurance:
I do not accept any insurance plans at this time. However, clients who would like to request a Superbill to submit to their own insurance plans for possible, partial reimbursement, must request this at the beginning of services. This would require a mental health diagnosis that is deemed 'medically necessary' and we cannot guarantee whether, or how much, your insurance plan will reimburse you for sessions. Upon your request, I can provide a quarterly Superbill (every 3 months) and it is your responsibility to discuss with your insurance plan whether your therapist will be covered for this possible, partial, reimbursement and the amount of this reimbursement. If you would like to request Superbills, please bring this up during intake interview and the first session.
Languages Spoken:
English, Taishanese/Chinese* *Please contact me directly about bilingual therapy services (I identify as a beginning/mid-level speaker of Taishanese).
Specialty/Interest:
I'm interested in empowering initiatives aligned with learning/education, diverse languages/cultures, integrative health and community wellness, destigmatization of mental health, psychology/neuroscience, identity/personhood and relationships.
Bio:
Thanks for your time with this introduction. I collaborate with individuals, couples and families navigating various life situations and concerns. My professional work and foundation is informed by narrative therapy, postmodern practices, family systems, and mental health/psychology. This theoretical lens invites opportunities to deeply consider complexities, language/culture, learning, local knowledges, relationships, identities, values, preferences and possibilities. I hope to support conversations that honor your lived experiences while creating spaces to explore curiosity, perspectives, reflections, and compassion during times of transition. I work as a licensed therapist (LMFT) at Narrative Initiatives San Diego (NISD), a non-profit counseling and training center that is located in Hillcrest. I currently offer sessions via Telehealth over secure video to residents within the state of California. Please contact the NISD administrative team for next steps with intake process and remember to note interest in scheduling an initial appointment with me. I offer discounted rates for students and prepaid relational therapy packages. 50-minute sessions and 90-minute sessions are available. I graduated from the University of California San Diego (B.A.) and San Diego State University (M.S.) I have previous field experience with behavioral therapy, education and community clinics. I'm in the process of completing Perinatal Mental Health Certificate (PMH-C) with Postpartum Support International (PSI) by Fall/Winter 2023. I look forward to consulting with you.
