Apply to receive FREE clinical training in Perinatal Mental Health!!

Funded by Kaiser Permanente's Community Health Grant, and in partnership with Postpartum Support International, PHA is excited to offer FREE training opportunities to post-graduate clinical providers interested in expanding their knowledge in the field of perinatal mental health.

Scholarship Goal:

In an intentional effort to address perinatal health and wellness disparities within the San Diego community, the goal of our scholarship program is to increase the number of specialized providers that work with underserved populations (i.e. MediCal providers, communities of color, low-income, immigrants, refugees, etc).

Scholarship Details:

All interested candidates may apply by clicking the "Apply Now" button below and completing the application form. The number of scholarships provided is dependent on grant funding. Scholarships are strictly limited to post-graduate clinicians working with underserved populations. Special consideration will be given to bilingual or BIPOC applicants.

Each scholarship will cover the cost of one PSI clinical training and a one-year professional membership with PHA. Awarded trainings MUST be completed by 12/01/2022.

The deadline to apply is July 1st, 2022.

PHA's DEIA committee will select winning applicants. Scholarship recipients will be announced on August 2, 2022, and one of PHA's Equity and Inclusion Co-chairs will reach out to you.

Each PHA scholarship will fund ONE of the following training:

Maternal Mental Health Certificate Training for Mental Health and Clinical Professionals

Presented by PSI and 2020 Mom, this online webinar series includes eight live sessions, small group discussions, supplemental reading materials, 16 continuing education credits (where applicable), and a certificate of completion.

Training Dates and Time: Series begins September 13, 2021, and ends December 20, 2021. Classes are on Mondays, from 10 am-12 noon PST. Classes are recorded and can be watched at any time.

PSI's Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders: Components of Care

The 2-day PSI Certificate of Completion Course, taught by experienced and engaging faculty, is a thorough and evidence-based introductory curriculum focused on the assessment and treatment of perinatal mood disorders.

Registration includes a training binder, handouts, and 14.5 continuing education credits.

Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapy

PSI's Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapy Training is an evidence-based curriculum designed for mental health and psychotherapy providers who have previously completed at least fourteen hours of perinatal mental health training.

This course is a pre-requisite for the Perinatal Mental Health Certification, in the mental health/psychotherapy specialty. Registration includes an educational binder and 6 CEUs.

Training Date and Time: TBD (must be completed by 12/01/2021)
